Co-Owner Kris Tapp
Kris started diving at 12 years old. His dad Dennis was a PADI Dive Master working along side MSDT Jeff Tucker at the time. From a young age Kris had played with his dad scuba equipment in their pool prior to getting certified. Of course this was done under Dennis’s supervision. After certification, Kris and his dad enjoyed diving together. Family vacations Kris would join his dad and sister on the dive boat. After only a couple of years, Pennyroyal Scuba was founded and the work began. Kris was only a sophomore in high school when Pennyroyal first opened to divers in 1994.
Since then, Kris has grown up in the business. Becoming a certified EMT in 1998 & in 2003 becoming a licensed Paramedic. Kris continued his diving classes as well. In 2002 he earned his Advanced Open Water with PADI and in 2005 earned his Stress & Rescue thru SSI. From there Kris carried on with SSI to become a Dive Control Specialist in 2007 & an SSI Open Water Instructor in 2009. Since then Kris has earned his Dive Master Instructor with SSI as well as his MSDT with PADI.
Kris enjoys traveling to the Caribbean & leading trips where divers can enjoy week long adventures. Kris has logged over 8000 dives in his tenue and is still an avid diver. In the past couple years, Kris has had to focus on the management aspect of the business as his dad has been out due to Covid.
In the future, Kris is wanting to become either a PADI Course Director or SSI Instructor Trainer.
In addition to the park, Kris also serves on the Hopkinsville-Christian County Convention & Visitors Bureau as the county representative. Kris is a stickler for good customer service and strives to maintain a high quality of customer service at the park.
