PSI-PCI Programs We Teach
The PSI-PCI programs are a staple in cylinder safety. Recognized as the leader in Visual Inspection Training, Valve Repair, Oxygen Cleaning and more, PSI-PCI has been leading the way for cylinder safety for over 40 years.
We are proud to be able to offer the following courses through PSI-PCI. Student that successfully complete a PSI-PCI course will receive certification by mail from PSI-PCI in 1 to 2 weeks after completion of their course.

Visual Cylinder Inspector Course (VCI) $375.00
The PSI-PCI Visual Inspector Course teaches the basics of conducting annual visual inspections on Scuba & SCBA solid wall cylinders. Course duration is between 6 & 8 hours for those who are just starting out in visual inspections as well as inspectors that have no formal training. Expect to learn about SLC (sustained Load Cracking) found in 6351 alloy, damage limits, cracking and the regulations & laws that govern cylinder inspections. This course meets federal requirements including: OSHA & D.O.T. for employee hazmat training. At the completion of the course, Students shall be qualified to conduct HAZMAT training for cylinder handlers. Inspectors who are expired may attend this course as a VCI Alumni to reinstate their certification status. Pre-Requisite: Minimum of 16 years old. No previous cylinder inspection experience necessary. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive certification as Visual Cylinder Inspector from PSI-PCI. Visual Cylinder Inspector Refresh (VCIR) $275.00
For PSI-PCI inspectors that are outside their 3 year certification date. This is the full VCI course as described above, offered at a reduced rate for inspectors previously certified by PSI-PCI as a Visual Inspector. All PSI Alumni that are expired are required to take the VCI course as a refresher.

Visual Cylinder Inspector Update (VCIU) $100.00
This 2 hour program is updated annually and designed to provide a current PSI-PCI trained inspector information on recent changes to cylinders and inspection standards as well as keeping you abreast of current happenings. Additionally, this update meets the OSHA and DOT 3 year recurrent training requirements for cylinder HAZMAT handling. Participants receive a Certificate of Attendance upon completion valid for 3 years per Federal training requirements.

Oxygen Cylinder Cleaning Technician (OCCT) $150.00
This 2-3 hour course offers information and inspection training specific to cleaning oxygen service cylinders. The course has been designed by true experts and engineers in the gas industry on the subject of oxygen. Handlers of oxygen are federally required to have training and the PSI-PCI course meets those requirements. Because of its part in the inspection process, attendees are required to be currently certified as PSI-PCI Visual Cylinder Inspectors. Students will be provided a Certificate of Completion.

Valve Repair Technician (VRT) $150.00
This course provides a broad overview of valve types, valve repair and valve care and maintenance. It is approved and contributed to by many valve manufacturers. Students will be provided a Certificate of Completion.

HAZMAT & Fill Station Operator (HAZMAT-FSO) $150.00
HAZMAT Handler and Fill Station Operations for SCUBA & SCBA Cylinders - OSHA and DOT require all employees who "are affected" by high pressure cylinders to receive "function specific" training to the HAZMAT within 90 days of employment and retraining every 3 years afterward. Businesses that operate cylinder filling stations are required by OSHA to provide formal, function specific training to employees operating filling equipment. Topics include pre-fill inspection, proper techniques, system maintenance, and emergency procedures. As fill systems vary greatly, this course is customized to specific fill stations operational procedures. Course times vary from 1 - 3 hours.

Cylinder Safety Seminar (CSS) $50.00
This 1 to 1 1/2 hour seminar and is a short overview of SCBA (steel, aluminum, and composite) cylinders. Offered to local fire departments and regional fire service training gatherings to alert department personnel to both the safety awareness regulations and ways to extend the life of expensive cylinders.
