Getting started is easy. If your not sure, our training agency Scuba Schools International let’s you start for free. You can signup using the link above and get started on the first 3 chapters of the Digital Learning system. Then if you want to continue, simply contact us to get registered for the rest of your Open Water Diver course.
Our Open Water Diver course is a total of 2 full weekends. The first thing you will need to do is complete your digital material prior to your class start date. On the first weekend, you will complete your classroom review, final exam and 6 pool/confined water sessions learning the safety skills needed.
On the second weekend or Certification Weekend, you will complete 4 evaluation open water dives with your instructor & a 5th dive with your dive buddy.
Example of a course itinerary is: 1st Day
First half of the day Class Review & Final Exam
Second half of the day Pool/ Confined Water Sessions 1 -3
Second Day: Pool/Confined Water Training Sessions 4 -6 with skill practice time & lunch break.
2nd weekend:
2 or 3 evaluation dives on Saturday depending on weather. Remaining dives to be completed on Sunday.
Once you have completed & passed all objectives & skills, you will earn your Open Water Diver Certification and be ready to explore the underwater world.

The SSI Open Water Training Standards are the standards to which our instructors are required to teach. We are providing this information so that we have transparency in our training programs. Your instructor may add tips & information that will benefit but have to teach to these minimum standards.
